Menier - the fastest growing cooking chocolate brand in the UK

Jean-Antoine Menier was an entrepreneur and innovator, pioneering the conching process that enabled the mass production of premium chocolate. He founded Menier in 1816, making it the oldest chocolate brand in the world.

Menier built a factory in Noisiel in 1825 which in 1830 became the first mechanized mass production factory for cocoa powder in France. Menier then became the first company to introduce blocks of chocolate in 1836.

Under the leadership of the founder's son, Emile-Justin Menier, the company concentrated solely on the manufacturing of chocolate products. In 1864, a period of expansion began that made the Menier Chocolate company the largest chocolate manufacurer in France.

In 1878 Menier won 7 gold medals at the World's Fair in Paris for the excellence of their products and at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago they were billed as the leading chocolate makers in the world.

Menier is today the fastest growing cooking chocolate brand in the UK and the leader in dark cooking chocolate. Its success is partly down to the lengthy grinding process that creates a smaller particle size than most of its competitors. It is this that results in its smooth texture and superior flavour delivery.

Elegantly wrapped in its pastel-toned packaging displaying medals for excellence, and now made in Switzerland, Menier is available in Dark 70%, Milk and White varieties.
